Terrifier 2 (2022)

After the carnage of the first film, Art the Clown returns to haunt Sienna, her friends, and her little brother on Halloween night. This film uses heavy practical effects to create some horrific scenes. It also alludes to some kind of mythology behind Art the Clown - I’ll be honest, I don’t fully understand it and I don’t especially care - this franchise just isn’t for me. There is some kind of little girl clown demon? Sienna must fight for her own survival and keep her little brother safe as Art goes on a rampage during her Halloween celebration.

My distaste for the franchise aside, I do think this film is a good one for Halloween. It it set on the holiday itself, it has decorations, costumes, and frights galore. I think if you are into extreme gore and want something that is festive you can’t go wrong with a Terrifier and Terrifier 2 marathon. You might even enjoy Art’s first appearance in All Hallow’s Eve.

I definitely thing this film is inferior to the first - it’s almost like they got a budget and lost the (for lack of a better word) “charm”. I will absolutely warn that this is gruesome and pulls no punches. If you are squeamish, definitely avoid it. If not, enjoy with caution.
