Haunt (2019): Halloween

This has been called one of the best Halloween movies of all time, and I fully agree. It combines everything you need for a great Halloween movie - it’s set on Halloween, it’s centered around a Halloween activity (attending a scare house), it’s spooky, and there’s a group of young adults getting slashed up.

Harper and her friends go out for some Halloween fun and end up in a house of horrors. Trapped in a scare house, the friends realize that it isn’t all fun and games; they are being hunted by a group of killers who are feeding on their fears. The film has good effects, a great sense of dread, but I think the actors are where the movie shines the most. As someone who works with college students, they are all believable and well portrayed (for a horror movie).

I honestly wish I had watched this movie sooner, it is definitely getting added to my annual Halloween watchlist. There’s nothing like a good old fashioned Halloween Haunt to set the mood for spooky season.
